Welcome back, bloggees!
SL (Sweet Lorraine) and I are delighted that you might be a part of our next adventure.
Randy Webber said to me, "It's far better to retire a year too early, than a day too late."
Randy Webber said to me, "It's far better to retire a year too early, than a day too late."
He was right.
So that's what we did. We retired. I do feel the need to tell you that, while Randy has excellent retirement advice, do not listen to his tips for drafting fantasy football teams. He has been known to draft deceased players onto his JAFFL team. His entry fee is, however, appreciated each year - I believe it funded Derek's post-secondary education.
We learned from our adventure last year. So here are our amendments.
Pack less, but bring a guitar. Last year, our plan was to buy a guitar in Europe and sell it before we left. Did not work. Crap guitars, hugely overpriced. It was incredible how much I missed having a guitar to play and write with. The guitar I bought is a Fender with a bolt-on neck. I take it apart, put it in the suitcase and re-assemble it.
Pack less. I am not known for my sartorial spendor. I am quite happy with shorts and t-shirts .
I cannot convey the excitement in our house as we count down the 4 remaining days....
